Guitar Department Team Member

If you are reading this, there is a good chance you already know who we are. We are one of Australia's leading musical instrument retailers and part of a group with stores in most states across Australia. We are big, but we are still family owned, so it is a pretty great place to work.

The right person

We are not a stuffy corporate, so we do not have some massive document with all sorts of requirements or hoops you need to jump through. But we are on the lookout for the 'right' person, which would be someone who loves helping people as much as they love music.

Someone who is happy to work a roster that includes weekends. Yes, we know you might gig on Friday or Saturday nights, but weekends are when we are busy, so we need someone who can work then.

What we are looking for

• Someone who loves helping people as much as they love music.
• Friendly, enthusiastic and genuinely happy to help every customer.
• Happy to work a roster that includes weekends.
• Knows a bit about guitars, and how to play one.
• Bonus points for knowing other instruments and gear we sell.

Guitar knowledge

• You know your way around electric, acoustic and bass guitars.
• You can pick one up, play it, and show a customer what it can do.
• You can talk pickups, tonewoods, amps and pedals without the jargon scaring anyone off.
• You do not need to be Eddie, Stevie or Jimi, but you need to know what it is all about.
• Knowledge of other instruments and equipment is a plus, but guitar is the main focus.

Helping customers

You can be as moody and cool as you like when you are playing in your band, but if you are here, you need to be friendly, enthusiastic, and genuinely happy to help someone find the perfect guitar.

• A 12 year old student with $200 and their first guitar to find.
• A parent who has no idea what their kid is asking for.
• A gigging player chasing a new pedal, amp or a quick fix before Saturday.
• A pro ready to spend serious cash on the dream guitar they have always wanted.

Every one of them deserves the same friendly, enthusiastic help.

Working Hours

This is a Full Time role on a roster that includes weekends. Saturdays and Sundays are our busiest days, so weekend availability is essential. Please outline your availability when applying.
